We support mechanical contractors, engineers, and building owners with technical sales, application support, and service coordination.Role OverviewWe're looking for a Project Accountant to provide short-term coverage for approximately 6–7 weeks. This role keeps project accounting and day-to-day transaction processing running smoothly during the coverage period, with a strong focus on project-level cost accuracy and support for an ongoing ERP transition.Key ResponsibilitiesProject accounting (primary focus): review and reconcile project-related invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments; work with project managers and operations to ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue recognition.Accounting entries: post day-to-day transactions to the general ledger with accurate coding and supporting documentation; prepare journal entriesand supporting schedules for month-end close under the direction of the Financial Controller.ERP implementation support: participate in the transition to a new accounting/ERP system, including data entry,



testing, and adoption of current processes.Invoicing: process customer invoicing, collections follow-up, and accounts receivable reconciliation.Reconciliations & audit support: complete bank and credit card reconciliations, and prepayment/accrual schedules for month-end.RequirementsEducation & Experience:Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field1-3+ years of experience in project accounting, full-cycle bookkeeping, or a similar role, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or a project-based industryExperience with an ERP or accounting system transition or implementation is an assetCore Competencies:Comfortable working independently and picking up new systems quickly given the short engagement windowStrong Excel skills and general accounting software proficiencyUnderstanding of cost allocation, revenue recognition, and month-end close processesKey Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to hit the ground running; strong communicator whocan work closely with project managers, operations, and the Financial Controller; comfortable with changeand process adoption during an ERP transition.
