BASIC FUNcTIONSThe role of the Hot Tap Assistant I has a wide scope. The Hot Tap Assistant I will assist in all aspects of the hot tap process. From the initial rigging in of the welder to the clean-up of the site after the completion of the hot tap. The Hot Tap Assistant I would also be required to come into the shop to complete such tasks as general shop work, helping out with manufacturing and vehicle/equipment maintenance.POSITION REQUIREMENTSIndustry related training and/or ticketsGeneral knowledge of the oil and gas industry in relation to the services RFI providesGrade 12 or equivalency diploma an asset or at the discretion of ManagementPhysical and mental capability to perform in the field or shopRESPONSIBILITIESAssist in pre and post job set upAssist the technician in all aspects of the hot tap operationCome into the shop to complete maintenance on vehicles, equipment and basic shop maintenanceHave the ability to come in and help out with the manufacturing of hot tap fittings,



and testing hot tap prototypesCome into the shop and kit jobsDUTIESRigging welder in and outPrepping the pipe for the pre job inspectionAssisting with pre job welding procedure requirements which include spark test, amp check and cool down testsCleaning up the work site once the work has been completed after each day or each locationBolting up valves and hot tap machinesCompleting pressure testsCompleting the hot tapOther duties as requiredHEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that all work is completed in compliance with Red Flame Industries Health and Safety PoliciesEnsure that all field work is completed in compliance with Red Flame Industries, Customer, and Industrial RequirementsBe responsible for hazard mitigation and adhere to PPE requirements for all work sitesParticipate in RFI health and safety program as necessary
