About the Team
The Ministry of Advanced Education is responsible for developing a skilled and educated workforce that meets the needs of Saskatchewan’s labour market. The ministry works with the private sector, post-secondary education institutions and community organizations to develop, retain and attract skilled workers. We also work with educational institutions to recruit and retain international students and assist First Nations and Métis learners.
The ministry provides financial assistance to over 23,000 Saskatchewan post-secondary students each year through student loans, grants and numerous scholarships and bursaries and supports the Graduate Retention Program.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Opportunity:
This position is the lead for the Ministry of Advanced Education’s Operational Records System (ORS)
which includes training other staff and working in conjunction with the Designated Records Officerto maintain ministry wide record policy and procedures. The position also backs up other positions within the unit including accommodations and mailroom duties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, proofread, and process documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper files; update, retrieve, and archive records according to procedures.
- Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, and ministry systems.
- Respond to phone, email, and in‑person inquiries; provide information or direct clients to appropriate staff.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and ensure timely document distribution.
- Create, update, and organize case files or client information for review by program staff.
- Check documents and data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies.
- Provide basic support for office software and equipment troubleshooting.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhere to records-management standards, and work collaboratively to support efficient, client-focused office operations.
