Job DescriptionJob Title: Student Health CoordinatorClassification: 1.0 FTECompensation: Commensurate with experience and education (Union Pay Scale 1)Benefits Eligibility: YesReports to: Director of AdministrationStart Date: ImmediatelyGeneral Description: The Student Health Coordinator is responsible for serving as a liaison between the Licensed School Nurse (LSN; School Nurse consultant), student health and wellness faculty/staff members, and parents/guardians relating to health care issues and maintaining related health records. Student Health Coordinator also assists students with routine health care protocols.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow protocols and written care plans to administer medication, treatments, and episodic care under the supervision of the School Nurse consultantPreparation, review and proper filing of incident report/concussion formsMaintain relationship with the School Nurse consultantMaintain accurate health records and secure storage of medicationRespond to health services needs and requests for informationMonitor and be the point of contact for health related concerns (i.E. flu outbreaks, lice, etc.)Prepare and maintain First Aid Kits and medication permission forms for office and field tripsMonitor/order health supplies as needed for general building/faculty use (non-departmental)Maintain a clean and orderly health officeEnsure that health forms are available to students/parentsPart of Wellness Policy Committee and school wellness activitiesRespond to safety related to healthcareParticipate in training as requiredPreparation of files and references for tripsOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDSkillsMust be able to multitask in a fast paced environmentAble to be calm and steady with staff and students in urgent health situationsAbility to understand documents and guidance from the MN Department of HealthPreferred QualificationsFirst Aid TrainingInstitution DescriptionGreat River School is a public Montessori school serving students grades 1st through 12th grade with the International Baccalaureate program in 11th & 12th grades.
