Tim Hortons in Courtenay, BC is hiring a Food Service Supervisor to lead a team of 11-15 food counter attendants and food preparers at their Cliffe Avenue location.

Work Setting: Food service establishment, coffee shop, fast food outlet, restaurant.

Responsibilities:

- Establish methods to meet work schedules
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
- Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
- Hire food service staff
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Prepare budget and cost estimates
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Prepare and submit reports
- Supervise and check assembly of trays
- Establish work schedules

Supervision: 11-15 people including food service counter attendants and food preparers.





Work Conditions: Quick-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, combination of sitting, standing and walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding.

Requirements:

- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- No degree, certificate or diploma required
- Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, team player

Schedule: Day, evening, morning, night, weekend, shift, early morning.

1 year to less than 2 years of food service experience; no formal education credential required; strong oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced physically demanding environment.
