The Kwanlin Dün First Nation is seeking applications for those who wish to be considered for the School Crossing Guard. Reporting to the Manager of School-Age Education, this position is responsible for the safety of the students crossing the road to attend Elijah Smith School. The School Crossing Guard will be a positive role model and leader to the KDFN children. The program will operate seasonally during the days that the school is open, from September until June (10 months).Job requirements & conditions of employment:Willingness to work split shifts, flexible work arrangements possible; Ability to walkand stand for long periods of time; Working outdoors with exposure to weather elements; Constant attention (both sight and hearing)



to identify hazards; Clear criminal records check with vulnerable sector check; Current First Aid/CPR certification; Valid Yukon driver's license is an asset.Considerations for this opportunity include:Completion of eighth grade; or equivalent schoolingand experience to perform essential duties of the job; Knowledge of Yukon Traffic Laws, basic secure driving rules and procedures, and emergency procedures; Ability to gainthe attention and cooperation of school children and other pedestrians; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to workeffectively with supervisors, children, parents, and school employees; Ability to observe and record license numbers and incident details accurately; *KDFN has generous employer-paid benefits package and a matching pension plan that commences after 3 months of continued employment plus generous paid leave accruals.Note: The KDFN Hiring Preference Policy is in effect.
