Role SummaryThe Commercial Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for sourcing, estimating, securing, and delivering profitable commercial work through effective planning and execution from bid to completion. "Commercial" refers to non-residential projects, including retail, industrial, multi-family, institutional, municipal, agricultural, parkade repairs, and restoration-related work.The Role IncludesIdentifying commercial opportunities through bidding platforms, RFPs, industry relationships, referrals, and strategic networkingAssisting in the development and growth of Shield's Commercial Division, including helping establish processes, systems, subcontractor relationships, crews, and operational resources required to support long-term growthSupporting the ongoing organization, coordination, and management of commercial operations and resources as the division evolvesReviewing project scopes, engineering drawings, specifications, and tender requirements to ensure alignment with Shield's capabilitiesObtaining accurate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and rental providersEvaluating project profitability, risk, feasibility, structural considerations, and operational requirements prior to submissionManaging and overseeing assigned commercial projects from award to completion, including projects sourced or sold by other Shield team membersActing as Project Manager for commercial projects assigned by Shield and ensuring projects are completed in accordance with company standards, budgets, timelines, communication expectations, safety requirements, and profitability goalsProject Execution & DevelopmentThe employee is expected to actively participate in and support the execution of all assigned projects, including hands‐off involvement where required.This role includes overseeing projects in the field, directing and supporting crew members, and ensuring work is completed safely,

Shield will provide guidance, support, and training as needed to support this development.Required Experience & KnowledgePrevious experience in commercial estimating, project management, construction sales, or related commercial construction rolesStrong knowledge of foundations, waterproofing systems, structural concrete repair, parkade restoration, and building envelope systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, structural details, tender packages, and scopes of workStrong understanding of structural loading, temporary shoring requirements, construction sequencing, and safe work practicesExperience managing commercial projects, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client communicationUnderstanding of commercial construction practices, project coordination, and job costingSales experience with strong customer service, networking, relationship-building, and communication skillsStrong organizational, leadership, problem‐solving,

Time off requires approval, and vacation during the busy season (April–October) is limited.
