plan and mock disaster exercisesWorks in conjunction with Shannex fire and safety policies to help train staff in fire safety techniques; schedules fire drills and evaluates performance effectivenessTakes every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents and all others in the workplaceAdditional duties as assigned/requiredAbout YouA High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education1-2 years' experience in construction or building maintenanceKnowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislationAdvanced Proficiency in English required, other languages considered an assetCertification in Carpentry, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Plumbing or Electrical trades considered an asset.Knowledge of blueprint reading considered an assetSuccessful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointmentA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and careGreat People is a core value at Shannex, grounded in the belief that our team members are the spirit and foundation of our organization.
