We offer extensive products and services, including the fabrication of bridge expansion joints and railing systems, and custom steel fabrication. We have an immediate opening for an Experienced Fitter with MIG welding experience at our Bowmanville facility.Job Requirements and Responsibilities:Must have excellent fitting skillsRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding processFitting, fabricating, and welding metal and structural components.Cut, drill, bevel, and grind metal parts to ensure proper fit-up for weldingLay out, position, and align parts and assemblies before weldingClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, and bolt parts to obtain required configurations and positions for weldingRecognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as wheel & die grindersMust be able to set up their own jigExperience welding with stainless steel and aluminum would be an assetEnsure production quality is being met and safety is being followed during the processMaintains a working knowledge of the status of all current projectsInspects work to maintain specified standards and qualityWork with large parts/fabrications and custom structural steel fabricationsMust do general labour work if/when requiredQualifications you should have:Minimum 5 years experience fittingMinimum 5 years MIG Welding is essentialWelding Certificate or Diploma program an assetCWB weld ticket preferred or capable of obtainingSelf-motivated, ability to work with little supervision or directionAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work overtime when requiredPositive attitude and take pride in your workSolid communication and team collaborationSound knowledge of welding safety regulations and commitment to health and safety in the workplace.Strong ability to build rapport, establish trust and command respect.Excellent quality of workmanship (welds must pass MTO inspection)What we offer:$28-35.00 per hourPermanent Full-time workGroup Health Perks - company paid (Health, Dental, Drugs, Life Insurance, AD&D, LTD)RSP Plan with company matchM-F Shifts - Day Shift (Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 04:30 PM & Friday: 7:00 AM to 03:30 PM)Annual Boot AllowanceCandidates selected for an interview must complete a weld test and fitting test.As an equal-opportunity employer, we recruit our employees based on their capabilities and performance.
