Cariboo Pulp is currently recruiting for aJourneyperson Pipefitter.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Pipefitter will be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting and predictive, preventative maintenance strategies. As a member of this high performing team you will be responsible for working safely with all machinery within the pulp mill.You'll DoPerforming equipment repairs within planned time frames and completing the related record-keepingReading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and codes to determine layout, type and size of pipe, and tools to useApplying knowledge of system operation to select the most suitable pipe type and sizeAccording to specifications, install support equipment like hangers, brackets, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic cylindersInspect the worksite to ensure no obstructions to the pipe and if there are any holes or interference, repair or modify the designCutting pipes using handheld and power tools like hammer and chisel, cutting torch, pipe cutter, and pipe cutting machineThreading and bending pipes using pipe bending tools and threading machinesAssembling and installing tubes, fittings, and non-metallic attachments.Joining pipes using threads, soldering, welding, brazing, or cemented connectionsChecking systems for leaksInspecting piping systems and machinery to detect machinery malfunctionsYou haveA valid Class 5 driver's licenseHeavy industry experienceCommitment to working safely and creating a safe work placeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAble to work independently with little supervisionCompensation PackageThe hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp Ltd.
