Schedules are subject to change dependent on operational needs.Vacancy Number: JS-U25-41Available: ImmediatelyPay: CA$56,500 per yearBase pay rangeCA$56,500.00/yr - CA$56,500.00/yrResponsibilitiesSchool-Based Responsibilities (Primary Focus)Daily Security & Arrival ProceduresArrive at the school at 8am to complete security/perimeter checksCommunicate with program drivers to coordinate staggered entry to individual classroomsConsistent radio usage to keep classroom staff updated on program arrivalsClassroom & School Safety: ensure all classroom and section doors remain secured and student safetyMonitor hallways and exterior areas for suspicious activityEscort youth to washrooms and kitchen areas, and search facilities pre-and post-useOngoing tracking of youth movement to ensure safety and that youth don't intersectYouth Behavioural & Classroom Support: provide support in classrooms when behavioural concerns ariseSit with youth removed from class for self-regulation or meetings, ensuring teaching staff are never alone with a young personSupport lunch periods by escorting youth to the kitchen and ensuring program staff presence at all timesCover classrooms when program staff need to exit temporarilyDismissal Procedures: ensure safe dismissal by clearing hallways and outdoor areasProgram-Based Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)When school is not in session, support youth directly within the Terry Fox House programAssisting youth with hygiene, life skills, social skills,



and individualized planningSupporting case management in collaboration with the Senior CounsellorDeveloping and administering education-based, youth-centered plansAttending court with youth and assisting with appointments as neededParticipating in program planning, crisis intervention, and creating a safe, trauma-informed environmentPreparing/pre-cooking meals following secure food handling protocolsAdministration & Professional DevelopmentMaintain timely and accurate notes and logs using case management software and other administrative tasksSupport reporting of statistics and notes for program evaluation or special projectsWriting Serious Occurrence Reports Level 2s as requiredPerform security calls and house checks as per policyParticipate in individual and team meetings, supervisory meetings, planning sessions, and trainingsCollaborate with team members and model the agency's mission and valuesOther duties as assigned and participate in strategic planning and committees when requiredRegular reporting to funders and involvement in program budgetingEducation/ExperienceDiploma/Undergraduate Degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work.



Related education will be consideredMinimum one year experience working with youth who have experienced trauma from a trauma-informed frameworkExperience in crisis prevention and interventionCulturally responsive approach to working with diverse populationsValid G driver's licenseUnderstanding of systemic barriers affecting youthExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate with multiple stakeholders with minimal supervisionProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsAssets (preferred)Understanding of Youth Criminal Justice Act, Education Act, Safe Schools ActExperience in a licensed residential settingCurrent Standard First Aid and CPR, CPI, ASISTProficiency in FrenchApplyThank you for your interest in working with Springboard.
