They are seeking a Payroll Implementation Manager to lead payroll system ownership, drive configuration improvements, and ensure reliable, compliant payroll execution across the organization.This role blends payroll expertise with systems thinking and process design and is ideal for someone who enjoys improving how payroll operates rather than simply running it.The RoleThe Payroll Implementation Manager acts as the internal owner of payroll systems and workflows, partnering with finance, HR, and operations to ensure payroll processes are scalable, accurate, and well-documented. In addition to overseeing payroll delivery, this role is responsible for system configuration, reporting frameworks, and continuous optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn payroll system setup, configuration, and ongoing enhancementsLead payroll system implementations, upgrades, and feature rolloutsReview payroll data inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance,



and consistencyAct as escalation point for complex payroll issues and system-related discrepanciesPartner with internal teams to streamline payroll workflows and reduce manual processesDevelop and maintain payroll process documentation, controls, and SOPsOversee payroll approvals and ensure timelines are met each pay cycleSupport payroll reporting, analytics, and audit requirementsCoordinate payroll-related aspects of benefits processing and deductionsIdentify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within payroll operationsExperience & QualificationsPayroll certification required (PCP or equivalent)5+ years of progressive payroll experience in a systems-driven environmentHands-on experience with payroll system implementations or major optimizationsAdvanced working knowledge of a modern HRIS/payroll platform (UKG experience strongly preferred)Robust understanding of payroll compliance, statutory deductions, and year-end requirementsExperience working with cross-functional teams on system or process initiativesHigh level of proficiency in Excel, including reporting and data validationStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skillsDemonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretionComfortable operating in an environment undergoing change or transformation
