Our client in the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga) is looking for a detail-oriented, Construction industry-focused Intermediate Project Accountant to join their growing team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will have experience in Operational, Project-based Accounting, excellent attention to detail, thrive in fast-paced environments, and work collaboratively with others, with previous experience in the Construction industry.This organization is within a growing sector and offers opportunity for professional growth and development, all within a dynamic, positive work culture.DutiesDuties include but are not limited to:Ensuring the accurate processing and filing of project invoices and payments within a timely mannerReconcile accounts including progress billing, change orders, and chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and completenessEvaluation of prepaids, accruals, asset management, holdbacks, and monitoring of payments, follow up on outstanding balances as neededEnsure accuracy of LEMs reportingReview contract terms and ensure proper set up for projects including billing, costing, tax compliance, and labour requirementsAnalysis of job costing, review of costing reports, and cost allocation, as well as providing insight to costing fluctuations and adjustments as neededWorking closely with the General Ledger, adjustments as neededTrack project costs,



revenue as well as cash flow managementAssist in the production of Financial StatementsAssisting with Month End closing including, but not limited to, reconciling balance sheet and revenue accounts, analyzing margins and variances, and preparing adjusting entriesPreparing reporting as neededEnsure compliance with all financial regulations as well as following company policy & proceduresProfessionally and effectively manage relationships with vendors or internal stakeholdersProvide support on similar duties to support the success of the organizationAbout YouPrevious experience in the Construction industry, preference will be given to those with experience in a GCMinimum of 5 years' experience in a similar roleCPA Designation (or in pursuit of) is a strong assetIn-depth knowledge of accounting principles- completed post-secondary education in Business Administration (or equivalent)Proficiency in MS Office programs, including advanced MS Excel skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex financial issuesAbility to prioritize accordingly to effectively manage multiple deadlinesStrong communication skills (English essential)About the JobThe salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000, depending on experience.Please note that all candidates must be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
