Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Fertility ClinicPosition SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable and patient-focused Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our fertility clinic team. The RPN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their fertility journey, supporting patients through diagnostic testing, fertility treatments and procedures while working collaboratively with physicians, registered nurses and the interdisciplinary teamThe ideal candidate is organized, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs are essentialKey ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Fertility NursingProvide safe, compassionate and patient-centred nursing care throughout the fertility treatment processSupport patients undergoing fertility investigations and treatments, including IUI, IVF and FET cyclesProvide patient education regarding fertility treatment plans, medications, procedures and follow-up careProvide medication teaching and administration within the RPN scope of practice, including subcutaneous and intramuscular medicationsReinforce physician instructions and treatment plans and ensure patients understand next stepsRespond to patient questions and concerns and escalate clinical concerns appropriately to the RN or physicianProvide emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their fertility journeyMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical recordAssist physicians with clinical procedures and examinations, including IUI, endometrial biopsy, Pap testing and sonohysterogramPrepare patients for procedures, including appropriate positioning, education and explanation of the procedureProvide chaperone support during examinations and procedures as requiredAssist with specimen collection,



handling and processing according to clinic protocolsMonitor patients during and following procedures and report any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate clinicianProvide appropriate post-procedure education and follow-up instructionsAssist with embryo transfer procedures and other fertility-related clinical procedures as directedSupport physicians and nursing staff during clinical procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient careRecovery Room & Post-Procedure CareProvide patient monitoring and nursing care following procedures and treatmentsAssess patients for pain, bleeding, nausea, dizziness or other post-procedure concernsProvide discharge instructions and reinforce post-procedure care requirementsRecognize and appropriately elevate abnormal findings or changes in patient conditionEnsure patients meet appropriate discharge criteria before leaving the clinicThis position does not include operating room responsibilitiesBloodwork, Results & Clinical Follow-UpReview and follow up on patient results in accordance with established clinic protocolsMonitor bloodwork and ultrasound results throughout fertility treatment cyclesReview and follow up on Pap results, semen analysis results, TNI/ultrasound findings and other diagnostic results as assignedIdentify abnormal or clinically significant findings and escalate to the RN or physician as appropriateEnsure outstanding results are followed up on in a timely mannerCommunicate relevant results and treatment instructions to patients as directed by the physicianMaintain accurate documentation of results, follow-up and patient communicationQuality, Safety & Regulatory ComplianceFollow all clinic policies, procedures and established standards of practiceAdhere to infection prevention and control standards and maintain a safe clinical environmentParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and support ongoing clinic accreditation requirementsSupport Qmentum accreditation standards and processesFollow Health Canada requirements and applicable regulatory standardsMaintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality assurance activitiesReport incidents,



safety concerns and potential risks through the appropriate channelsClinic Operations & Team SupportWork collaboratively with RNs, RPNs, physicians, administrative staff and other members of the interdisciplinary teamAssist with maintaining efficient patient flow and clinic operationsSupport scheduling and coordination of patient appointments and clinical activities as requiredParticipate in clinic huddles, staff meetings and education sessionsProvide clinical support at both the Mississauga and Oakville locations as requiredMaintain flexibility to support changing clinic needs and staffing requirementsContribute to a positive, respectful and cooperative team environmentQualifications & RequirementsCurrent registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BLS and ACLS certification requiredMinimum one year of nursing experiencePrevious experience in fertility, reproductive health, women's health or a related clinical setting is considered an assetStrong clinical assessment and communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to patient safetyProficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentationCommitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing educationProfessional DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing education and training related to fertility nursing and reproductive healthMaintain current nursing competencies and required certificationsParticipate in clinic education, training and quality improvement initiativesStay current with applicable clinical guidelines, standards and regulatory requirementsPosition RequirementsFull-time positionAbility to work at both Mississauga and Oakville locations as requiredAvailability to participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required by clinic operationsAbility to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a high standard of patient careThis is an essential clinical position requiring regular direct patient contact
