DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%.Job SummaryReporting to the Supervisor – Repair and Overhaul, the Field Service Engineer will support routine field Service activities in operating environments at depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation or repairAs a Field Service Engineer, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Supports routine Field Service repair and overhaul in operating environments at customer facilities, training sites, and customer field operations involving training, operation, or repairTroubleshoots technical issues involving DRS-specific equipment at military and commercial field locationsTakes complex issues that cannot be resolved by lower-level technicians and work with engineering remotely to resolve themDetermines solutions for routine technical problems by working remotely with the DRS engineering head office in Kanata, OntarioDemonstrates the ability to work independently with or without supervisionMay interface directly with customer personnel to address technical support issues either in person or by phoneWorks at remote locations under supervision of others, including Navy personnelProvides regular reports on progress and status,



including technical field service reports or issue summariesCompletes assigned tasks on time and meets technical requirementsCommunicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, with company personnel and customers as requiredMay participate in the preparation of less complex proposalsAttends appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsProvides input and recommends process improvements. Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organization.Travel to customer sites as and when required.What you require to be successful in the role:Possession of a bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Electrical engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institutionMinimum of one (1) years of experience in electrical design in a light manufacturing environmentEET or P. Eng. designation, and eligible for registration with Engineers NSFamiliarity with the application of military and commercial standards to electrical designs is requiredExperience reading schematics and engineering specs, with a strong ability to troubleshootDemonstrated understanding and strong interests in power electronics and power converters designDemonstrated application of electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures and related knowledge to construct and debug power electronics circuitry in relation to the design of power conversion equipmentKnowledge of RS232 communication protocols, Linux operating systems, communications systems,
