The Nursing Care Manager is a key clinical leadership role, supporting the Director of Care in the day-to-day operations of the nursing department and personal care services. This position provides hands-on leadership, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports the delivery of high-quality, resident-focused care aligned with Atlantic Baptist Housing's philosophy and standards.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursing skilled who is passionate about leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a long-term care environment.What you'll be doingSupport the Director of Care in the overall management of the Nursing Department, including staffing, budgeting, and regulatory complianceProvide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting person-centered, evidence-based careEnsure compliance with Prince Edward Island Nursing Acts and Regulations and Nursing Home Inspection StandardsSupport the integration of legislation, standards, and clinical practice guidelines into daily nursing practicePerform daily rounds within nursing care units to support quality and continuity of careAssist with the development, review,



and updating of internal nursing policies and proceduresTrack, monitor, and report medication incidents and participate in risk management initiativesParticipate in strategic planning and implementation of nursing care initiativesSupport recruitment, orientation, probationary periods, and disciplinary processes in collaboration with the Recruiter and Workforce CoordinatorParticipate in Nursing Department meetings, Professional Practice meetings, Occupational Health and Safety meetings, and other committees as requiredSupport education initiatives, including education sessions and student clinical placements (RCW/RA, LPN, RN)Prepare and submit required reports, including weekly reports to Public Health when applicableWhat we are looking forBaccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program and is a RN in PEI or the ability for your license to be transferred immediatelyProgressive nursing experience in a long term care environment would be a major assetDemonstrated leadership capabilities or proven experienceExperience working within regulatory frameworks and clinical standardsAbility to lead, mentor, and support nursing teams in a dynamic care environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesCommitment to high standards of resident care, safety, and professional practiceAt Venor and Atlantic Baptist Housing we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
