PROJECT ENGINEERNhwelmen Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3–5 years of experience to join our growing project team. This role supports the Project Manager in the successful delivery of civil construction projects by coordinating field engineering activities, overseeing survey execution, and maintaining strong quality control standards. The successful candidate will work closely with field supervision, technical teams, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.What We Offer:Hourly rate of $45 - $60 per hour, based on experienceBenefit plan including extended medical and dental benefitsAnnual vacation entitlementOpportunities for professional growth and career development within a cooperative project teamKey Responsibilities:Project Engineering & CoordinationSupport the Project Manager with planning, coordination, and execution of project deliverablesAssist with project scheduling, progress tracking, quantities, and reportingReview drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure alignment with field executionPrepare and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentationLiaise with field supervision, subcontractors, and client representatives to support project progressSurvey & Field ExecutionOversee and coordinate the survey department, ensuring accurate layouts, grade checks,



and data collectionReview survey information and assist field teams with technical interpretationSupport construction execution by ensuring drawings and design intent are followedAssist with as-built records and turnover documentationQuality Control & Technical ComplianceLead and maintain Quality Control (QC) processes, including inspections, testing coordination, and documentationEnsure work complies with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirementsSupport development and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)Maintain accurate records for quality, inspection, and project close-out requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)3–5 years of relevant construction or civil project experienceStrong understanding of survey coordination, construction methods, and QC processesExperience working in heavy civil, infrastructure, or mining environments is an assetStrong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with field teamsValid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driver's abstractLocationBC Interior - project locations are currently within the Kamloops/Thompson area. This is not a camp position.
