Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of aircraft parts and components.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCarry out repair and maintenance on aircraft parts and components such as aircraft batteries, wheels, leading edges, engines, propellers, auxiliary power units and commissary equipment.Perform maintenance under the supervision of the Shop Lead ACA to the level required to obtain a Shop Certification Authority (SCA)Complete and certify repair ordersEnsure that all documentation used for the repair of parts/components are to the latest amendment (aircraft batteries, tires and wheels)Ensure safety rules, regulations and precautions are being observed by all employeesEnsure the shop is tidy at the end of the shiftMaintain shop equipment/tools in good working conditionAssist in "on the job" training for new employees and apprenticesMaintain yourself up to date with technical information required by the shopActively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety PolicyAttend training as mandated by the companyAssist in AOG line maintenanceOther duties as assignedBehavioural CompetenciesConcern for Safety:
