This role ensures mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. and work at heightsRepresents Sky Eye Measurement in the field and identifies opportunities to improve client operations and support SEM servicesRESPONSIBILITIESINSTALLATION:Install pumps, piping, tubing, valves, instruments, and electrical components on SEM-manufactured equipmentPerform equipment layout, mechanical assembly, and system integration in both field and shop environmentsEnsure installations meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirementsMAINTENANCE:Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on:Centrifugal pumpsPositive displacement (PD) pumpsFlow meters and associated instrumentationInspect and service mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure safe and reliable operationIdentify and address wear, performance issues, and potential failuresREBUILD & REPAIR:Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild pumps, flow meters, and valvesReplace seals, bearings, internals, and critical components as requiredDiagnose failures and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrenceCOMMISSIONING & START-UP:Lead and support commissioning and start-up of SEM transloading unitsPerform system checks, functional testing, and verification of control logic and interlocksSupport FAT (factory acceptance testing) and field start-up activitiesTrain clients on operation and best practices of SEM equipmentIdentify opportunities to improve system performance and reduce downtimeCONTROLS & ELECTRICAL SUPPORT:Troubleshoot HMI/PLC systems (e.G., Toptech, Siemens), including I/O verification and signal tracingMaintain and troubleshoot control systems, interlocks, and E-stop circuitsWork with 24VDC, 120/240VAC, and 480VAC systems, including motors, VFDs, and instrumentationMaintain and troubleshoot grounding and overfill systems (e.G., Scully, Dixon)Diagnose faults in probes, rack controllers,



and safety interlocksPARTS & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:Manage SEM parts and spares in the shop/warehouseMaintain accurate inventory records and ensure critical parts are available for field workTrack usage, inspect incoming parts, and coordinate procurement for replenishmentOrganize storage for accessibility, safety, and compliance with warehouse best practicesOptimize inventory levels to balance availability with cost efficiencySAFETY & COMPLIANCE:Comply with all federal, provincial, and client safety regulations and standardsComplete OSHAs/FLHAs and required site documentation prior to workActively participate in SEM safety inspections, initiatives, and reportingFollow LOTO procedures when servicing equipmentEnsure equipment meets operational and regulatory requirementsDOCUMENTATION & COMMUNICATION:Complete detailed daily service reports (DSRs)Communicate deficiencies, repair status, and recommendations clearlyProvide feedback to engineering/manufacturing for design and operational improvementsShare lessons learned and best practices with colleagues and clientsWORK SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY:Flexible schedule including extended hours and travelWilling and able to travel up to 80% of the year (domestic and international)Availability for urgent field response and critical repairsOn-call support as required by business needsQUALIFICATIONSValid Class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract3–7 years of relevant field experience in the technical competencies listed aboveJourneyperson Electrical, Instrumentation, or Millwright certification (Red Seal preferred)Petroleum Mechanic certification (PM1/PM3) considered an assetRailway and bulk liquid / LPG transloading experience considered a major assetAbility to pass pre-access testing, including drug and alcohol screeningValid passport required with the ability to obtain and maintain clearance for cross-border travel (including admissibility to the U.S.)Satisfactory criminal record check may be requiredSatisfactory credit check may be required due to company-issued credit cardsAbility to temporarily cover work-related expenses on a personal credit card (up to approximately $10,000) pending reimbursement
