Designs and produces adaptive equipment, utensils, splints or other orthotic devices as needed by residents; instructs residents andstaff in the use of the equipmentCoordinates management of facility equipment; contacts suppliers for service and maintenance of wheelchairs, geri chairs and power wheelchairsProvides staff training on ergonomics, seating assessment, skin integrity, equipment and other related topics as requiredAdditional duties as assigned/requiredAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:A Bachelors or Master of Science in Occupational Therapy,



current registration with the provincial Association of Occupational TherapistsProof of valid CPR/First Aid Certification is requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAt least 1-year clinical experience as an occupational therapy student or graduate therapistKnowledge of the principles and practices of occupational therapy, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology as related to the practice of occupational therapy, the use of adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, positioning chairs, utensils and splints and knowledge of the potential hazards associated with equipment, tools, and materials used in occupational therapySuccessful candidates will be required to obtain a?clear Criminal Record Check, and?where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointmentPrevious experience working in a Long-term Care, or health care environment an asset.Willingness to travel within the region; travel costs compensated per kilometerA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and careGreat People is a core value at Shannex, grounded in the belief that our team members are the spirit and foundation of our organization.
