Experience 3-5 YearsJob DescriptionDiving Sports Canada is looking for an experienced Store & Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our busy scuba diving retail and training centre in Vancouver.We're looking for someone who naturally sees what needs to be done, leads a team confidently, solves problems independently, and is constantly looking for ways to make a business operate better.RESPONSIBILITIESDay-to-day operation of the storeLeadership, scheduling and accountability of the retail teamDelegating work and ensuring it actually gets completedMaintaining high standards for customer service and store presentationInventory organization, receiving and replenishmentMerchandising and improving the customer experienceCoordinating operational needs between retail, courses, rentals and serviceHandling customer issues and making sound decisions independentlyIdentifying inefficiencies and implementing better processesDeveloping systems and procedures as the company growsSupporting hiring, onboarding and training of staffWorking with ownership on sales growth and business-development initiativesWHO WE'RE LOOKING FORYou are someone who:Has previous retail management,



operations management or comparable leadership experienceHas successfully managed employeesIs organized and able to prioritize in a busy environmentDoesn't become overwhelmed when several things need attention at onceCommunicates clearly and holds people accountableHas strong commercial judgmentTakes initiative instead of waiting for instructionsNotices problems and comes forward with solutionsEnjoys improving systems and finding better ways of doing thingsIs comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for themCan move comfortably between managing people, helping customers and solving operational problemsExperience inscuba diving is an asset, but it is not required.Experience managing a specialty retail, outdoor, sporting goods, cycling, ski, marine or similar business would be particularly valuable.We're looking for someone who can walk into the store, understand the priorities, organize the team, identify what needs attention and make things happen.Compensation: CAD$75,000–$85,000/year, depending on experienceSchedule: Full time, 40 hours/weekBenefits: Extended health and dental benefits
