As part of the Property Services team, this role fulfills maintenance work orders according to prescribed schedules and established quality standards, while also responding to urgent maintenance issues and supporting unit turnover.The Maintenance Technician contributes directly to housing quality and tenant satisfaction by:Performing general building maintenance, repair, and installation workEnsuring compliance with health, safety, and Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) requirementsAssisting with unit turnovers, inspections, and repairs to maintain housing quality standardsDocumenting work orders, reports, and safety incidents accurately and on timeWorking both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely, effective service deliveryThis role requires strong trade and maintenance skills, reliability, and the ability to communicate effectively with tenants, staff, and contractors while upholding Pacifica Housing's values of safety, respect, and service.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairsCarry out a variety of building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, appliances, drywall, painting, and minor electricalComplete residential installations and assembly (e.G., doors, blinds,



fixtures)Perform suite renovations and unit turnover activities to organizational standardsTroubleshoot and resolve general building maintenance issues in a timely mannerCompliance & SafetyPost official notices (e.G., Notices to End Tenancy, Notices to Enter) in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act, as directed by the Maintenance Operations Coordinator or Senior ManagerReport safety hazards, incidents, or accidents immediately to the Senior Manager or Maintenance Operations CoordinatorFollow health and safety standards while performing maintenance dutiesRemain available for off-hours emergency call-outs as scheduledDocumentation & ReportingComplete and submit required paperwork, including maintenance work orders and mileage claimsReport to the Manager of Maintenance on work completed, issues requiring follow-up, and items currently in progressMaintain accurate records of maintenance activitiesCollaboration & CommunicationMaintain cooperative and respectful relationships with tenants, staff, and contractorsWork independently to complete assignments and meet deadlinesSupport other members of the Maintenance Team and Property Services staff as neededOther DutiesPerform additional maintenance or property-related duties as assigned to support overall operationsRequirementsQualifications (minimum Education and Experience requirements)Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Education:High school graduationMust hold a Basic First Aid CertificateExperience:Experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit housing environmentDemonstrated experience in building maintenance and repairExperience using hand and power toolsPreferred: 2 years' experience in suite renovations or building maintenanceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall patching/installation, flooring,



and minor electrical repairsAbility to troubleshoot and perform general residential building maintenanceAbility to use a mobile phone for email, texting, calls, and calendar managementStrong time management, problem-solving, and independent work skillsAdditional Criteria for Role:Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required before employment commencesMust have valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 million liability 'business class' insuranceMust be available to be on the on call roster, as well as on off hours, for emergency call outsAs Pacifica Housing works with vulnerable populations, We require all staff to successfully clear a Vulnerable Sectors Criminal Record Check run by the Ministry of Justice.
