The Driver interacts with Parents, Teachers, and other School personnel.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPick up passengers at pre-determined locationsExhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behaviour with their supervisor or managerReport to work on time and operate route in a safe mannerConduct pre-trip inspections daily, using Company tools and swipe technologyPractice defensive driving at all times, and proactively avoid accidents by practicing safe driving and work habitsOpen and close bus doors daily, and assist passengers who are boarding and exiting the busEvacuate bus in emergency situations and physically assist passengers to evacuateRefill fuel and washer fluid in assigned vehicle when necessary,



before picking up passengersManage student behaviour by exercising communication and discipline as per Company policies, and report student discipline issues to the school and to the Company immediatelyReport all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects, to office immediatelyComplete all required paperwork, including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests, in a timely mannerDeliver vehicle to office for repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairsContact Parents of passengers if instructed to by the CompanyAttend all Company Safety MeetingsAdhere to Company standards in the operation of Company vehicles and customer serviceFollow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as local Customer Service Center work directions and instructionsPerform other tasks as assigned by the CompanyQualificationsRequirementsAlberta- Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence or higher and possess good driving history (no more than 3 demerit points accumulated and no speeding tickets over 24km/hr)Ontario- Must possess a valid provincial Class G Driver's Licence or higher and possess positive driving history (no more than 3 demerit points accumulated and no speeding tickets over 24km/hr)Must be at least 21 years of ageMust have a clean Drivers AbstractMust have at least 2 years of driving historyMust successfully complete the Company provided training program required by the provinceMust successfully complete a criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)Must successfully complete medical test as per the province's requirementsA First-Aid Certificate may be required depending on the school boardMust be available to work a split shift (both morning and afternoon shifts) on a daily basis from Monday to FridayMust possess tact and diplomacy in dealing with Students, Parents, and School PersonnelMust be committed, dependable and reliableSummit School Services has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with its policies and values, including sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination.
