The role involves working on critical privacy impact assessments and ensuring compliance with privacy legislation. This is a recent position with the Ontario Public Service (OPS) focused on evaluating privacy risks and compliance for current technologies and programs.
Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior - Responsibilities:
Lead or support the development of privacy impact assessments.
Ensure compliance with provincial, municipal, federal, and private sector privacy legislation.
Interpret and apply privacy laws, regulations, and risk countermeasures.
Conduct privacy assessments involving personal information and digital solutions.
Engage with clients to address privacy concerns and mitigate risks.
Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior - Mandatory Skills:
Experienced in privacy legislation including FIPPA, PHIPA, and PIPEDA.
Experienced in conducting privacy assessments involving personal information.
Experienced in leading privacy assessments with online or digital solutions.
Experience with assessments involving personal health information and third-party solutions.
Excellent communication skills with technical and business audiences.
Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior – Nice-to-Have Skills:
OPS or Public Sector experience.
Skilled certification in IT security or architecture.
Experience providing education and training related to privacy.
Familiarity with OPS Privacy Impact Assessment Process and Tools.
Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist - Senior – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.
