Our client is a well-established electrical manufacturing and industrial services company seeking an Apprentice Welder to join their fabrication team in Acheson.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role involving welding, fabrication, fitting and finishing of structural steel and sheet metal products.

What You’ll Do
Fit and weld components according to engineered drawings and specifications
Read drawings and welding symbols to determine weld size, length and placement
Measure and mark materials and ensure dimensional accuracy
Operate grinders, plasma cutters and other metalworking tools
Cut, drill, shape and finish sheet metal and steel products
Grind and buff welds and finished surfaces
Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools
Follow quality, safety and standard work procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area

What We’re Looking For
High School diploma
3rd-year Welding program completed




Registered Apprentice with AIT or another provincial apprenticeship program
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and measurements
Basic understanding of welding symbols
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality
Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively within a team
CWB certification, particularly FCAW, is an asset
Structural steel fabrication experience is an asset
CSTS 2020 required before starting

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Frequent bending, reaching, crouching and working overhead
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
Comfortable working around loud machinery and in a manufacturing setting
Ability to wear required PPE and work from ladders when required

Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
