Fire Alarm Technician

1000 Islands Fire & Security is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team.

We’re a small, locally owned company serving Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville and the surrounding area. Our work includes inspections, service, troubleshooting, verification, programming, upgrades and panel replacements.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has solid troubleshooting skills, and wants to keep learning.

What you’ll be doing
Fire alarm inspections and testing
Service calls, troubleshooting and repairs
Fire alarm verification and commissioning
Programming and testing addressable systems
System upgrades and panel replacements
Completing service reports and documentation
Working with customers, electricians and contractors
Participating in an on-call rotation
Fire extinguisher and emergency light inspection and service

What we’re looking for

CFAA registration and fire alarm experience are preferred, but we’re also open to someone with a strong electrical or electronics background who wants to build a career in the fire alarm industry.

You should have:
Good electrical and troubleshooting skills
A valid Ontario driver’s licence
Good communication skills




The ability to work independently
A professional attitude with customers
A willingness to learn
The ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment

Experience with Autocall, Simplex, Mircom, Notifier, Siemens, DSC or similar systems is an asset.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $28.00 to $55.00 per hour, depending on experience

Location: Kingston, Belleville, Gananoque, Brockville and surrounding Eastern Ontario
