Our passion for our craft fuels every project we touch.JOB OVERVIEWThe AME Avionics Apprentice is responsible to assist on line and heavy maintenance projects as well as work in the Avionics shop within their appropriate skill and ability level, in a safe and productive manner and in compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and KF Aerospace maintenance manuals and procedures.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProject Maintenance:The Avionics Apprentice works under a Licensed AME's supervision on line and heavy maintenance projects and Avionics shop, involving:Learning a thorough understanding of systems – air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, pneumatics - on multiple aircraftShowing ability to retain information and apply learning's to similar situationsCompleting assigned tasks in a timely mannerTaking responsibility for quality of own work and fixing mistakes where requiredEngaging in basic trouble shooting on assigned taskReporting to the Crew Chief any unserviceable condition discoveredDemonstrated Technical Skills:Accurately identifying, obtaining, using,



and testing appropriate tools for assigned tasksBasic knowledge of Standard Wiring Practices and Avionics SystemsAble to inspect and identify defectsAble to find and read applicable wiring drawingsBasic troubleshooting knowledgeSafety:Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipmentUnderstanding and applying the company's Risk Management SystemUnderstanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraftDocumentation:Ensuring appropriate documentation is complete and submitting to an endorsed AME or Crew Chief for ACA approvalREQUIREMENTSGraduation from a Transport Canada accredited "Approved Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Program"Must be able to obtain and retain a Transport Canada Airport PassBasic computer skillsMechanical aptitude and ability to work safely with basic hand toolsAble to read technical manuals and drawingsPositive attitude and strong work ethicAble to work effectively independently and as part of a teamAble to take direction from othersQuick learnerAbility to work 40 hours a week in a rotating shift-work environmentAbility to travel, as requiredMust be physically fitHOURS OF WORKThis is a shift work position which will require you to work days, evenings, and weekends. KF Aerospace works on a 3-week rotating shift scheduleLAUNCH YOUR CAREERAs an AME Avionics Apprentice with KF Aerospace you can start a rewarding career with a team of people who are passionate about their craft. The position starts at $24.58 with bi-annual performance and wage reviews. An employee can increase their wage up to $31.21 as an Apprentice before obtaining their Transport Canada License.Apprentices are expected to work towards filling out their Logbook & achieving their Transport Canada license. Once you have achieved your Transport Canada License, your wage will increase to $38.03 per hour with room to grow into Senior AME & Shift Lead roles.
