CLASS 1 DRIVER - LOWBEDNhwelmen Construction is seeking an experienced Class 1 Lowbed Driver to support our operations. This position operates lowbed truck and trailer combination to haul oversized and overweight loads, ensuring compliance with permitting, route requirements, and transportation regulations. The successful candidate must have robust load securement skills and a commitment to safety and equipment care.What we offer:$35 - $42 per hour, based on experienceBenefit planLong-term employment for qualified individualsGeneral Duties & Responsibilities:Operate lowbed truck and trailer hauling heavy equipment and machineryWork safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company policies and proceduresTransport oversize and overweight loads in compliance with provincial regulationsSafely load and secure equipment for transportAssist with loading/unloading equipment where requiredConduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment complianceAccurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as requiredEnsure all loads are secured and transported safelyDaily 360° inspection of equipment for operational and safety checks and advise if repair is requiredSupport operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as neededRequirements:Valid Class 1 driver’s license with an acceptable commercial driver’s abstract.Proven experience operating lowbed trailers and hauling oversize and overweight loads.Ability to safely operate heavy equipment (asset)Ability to complete mandatory online orientation, site-specific training, and certification requirements.Ability to successfully pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol pre-screening.Legally eligible to work in Canada.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Location:This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia.
