existing data sets and secondary source material for technical reports.Identify potential environmental impacts caused by land use changes and recommend suitable mitigation strategies to avoid and / or reduce potential impacts.Support permitting and approvals related to the natural environment (e.G., Environmental Protection Act,Fisheries Act,Impact Assessment Act)Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife and vegetation assessment methodologies, and best practices.Coordinate work with other environmental specialists (e.G., noise, air, archaeology, heritage, fisheries, terrestrial ecologists, etc.)Deliver high-quality environmental services to agreed budgets and deadlinesYou bring to the role:A bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Environmental Planning, Geography, Ecological Restoration, Environmental Management & Assessment, Environmental Technician / Technologist, Natural Resources Technician, or similar0-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced, consulting environment; experience working in the field is an assetKnowledge of natural heritage policies, survey protocols, environmental legislation, and environmental and social impact assessment processes; knowledge of environmental and social due diligence is an assetFlexibility to travel periodicallyExcellent verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to develop personal networks and work collaborativelyAbility to work in a multi-disciplinary and integrated team environmentInterest in continuous learning and commitment to personal accountabilityProficiency in French is an advantageExperience communicating with design and engineering teams is an advantageEligible to hold CAN-CISEC and MTO RAQs certification is an advantageCompetencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):Ability to think critically and creatively to create solutions for our clients' toughest challengesQuick learning, interest in taking on new challenges, high level of curiosity, and willingness to ask questionsCollaboration and being a team player with excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong mathematical and data analysis skills (including using Excel)Performing geospatial analyses using GIS software is an advantageCanadian flora and fauna identification skills is an advantageCompensation:Range: $81,000.00 to $84,000.00At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
