The QA Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance Manager inestablishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that allproducts meet customer specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. The role assists theQA manager to oversee product quality throughout the manufacturing process, participate in thequality improvement initiatives, supervise laboratory and inspection activities, and drivescontinuous improvement to minimize defects and customer complaints.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality ManagementAssist in maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO 9001). Monitor compliance with customerspecifications, IEC, ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and other relevant standards for high voltage insulators.Ensure product quality from incoming raw materials through finished goods.Assist QA manager in keeping quality control procedures and inspection plans up todate.Support external, customer, and certification audits.Process Quality ControlSupervise incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.Monitor key manufacturing processes including:Raw material inspectionMetal fitting assemblyMachiningPackaging and shipmentEnsure inspection records are accurate and complete.Assist in maintaining quality records and inspection reports.Prepare monthly quality performance reports.Ensure Certificates of Analysis (COA), inspection reports, and customer documentation complywith company procedures.Testing and Laboratory SupervisionOversee mechanical, electrical,



and material testing activities.Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment is up to date.Review laboratory reports and authorize product release.Supervise QA inspectors and laboratory technicians.Nonconformance ManagementParticipate in investigation of product defects and customer complaints through NCprocess.Participate in Root Cause Analysis using 8D, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why, Pareto AnalysisCooperate in implementing corrective and preventive actions across the plant.Cooperate in continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and improve processcapability.Analyze quality trends using statistical methods.Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:Scrap RateRework RateCustomer Complaint RateInternal and External PPMSupport Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.Supplier and Customer QualityParticipate in supplier audits.Assist in resolving supplier quality issues.Participate in customer quality meetings.Support product qualification and approval processes.QualificationsEducationMinimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, MetallurgicalEngineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturingenvironment.Technical KnowledgeISO 9001 Quality Management SystemsRoot Cause Analysis methodologiesCalibration systemsQuality data analysis using Excel, Minitab, or similar softwareLean Six Sigma certificate is an assetProcess capability analysis (Cp/Cpk) is an assetSkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and report writingDecision-makingCooperate with other departments' supervisors/managersWorking ConditionsManufacturing and laboratory workplace.Frequent shop floor inspections.Occasional travel for supplier visits, customer audits, and technical meetings.Compliance with all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
