Position SummaryReports to: Nova Metrix Canadian Controller. The Water Business Accountant is responsible for day to day accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, inventory/cost accounting, revenue recognition, and all aspects of multiple plant financial management, planning, reporting, systems, and controls to accurately reflect the locations' profit and drive improvements. The successful candidate will be hands‐on and can provide leadership and look at opportunities for cost savings, along with system improvements. This position reports directly to the Nova Metrix Canadian Controller and will sit in our Waterloo Hydrogeologic office in Waterloo, Canada.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform as an expert in all aspects of financial planning, reporting, controls and administrationPreparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and CA GAAPManage all accounting functions related to manufacturing, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, etcResponsible for all accounting, audit, and tax activities for multi‐site locations including Waterloo Hydrogeologic (Canada), and Westbay Instruments (Canada)Provide financial services to support all departments to assist them in areas of purchasing, inventory, costing, budgeting, and understanding of financial statementsAnalyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actionsEstablish and maintain internal accounting and operational controls over revenue recognition, expense management,



and effective measurement and control over all assetsEnsure the accuracy of physical inventoryHelp prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecastsManage the month‐end closing process and provide daily and weekly flash reportsSupport accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an setting of trust, productivity, and accountabilityReconciliation of balance sheet accounts to general ledger accounts on a monthly basisPrepare Canadian and multi‐currency journal entries for the month‐end closing process and provide weekly flash reportsExperience and SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA preferredMin 5-10 years accounting experience, manufacturing environment preferredCanadian accounting experience to effectively manage local statutory regulationsCritical thinking skills and ability to constructively resolve conflictsAbility to build partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project or participate on a technical teamStrong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions; able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve resultsSelf‐confident,
