(with some potential flexibility) and staff meetings when necessaryWage: $20 - 35depending on experienceJob DescriptionThe Supported Childcare Worker provides care to children with supported child care needs to allow for inclusion in the center program. This position helps to ensure children with supported child care needs are able to reach their goals developed in collaboration with the Child Development Centre.Specific tasks include:Assist staff in implementing the Individual Program Plan (IPP) to facilitate successful inclusionDevelop and maintain a positive environmentAssist staff and the child in group and individual activities, following the IPPLiaise with parents/caregivers, the Child Development Centre and Childcare Services on all aspects of the child's behavior and participationEnsure that all health and safety guidelines,



policies and procedures are followed at all timesAttend all necessary staff meetings and training sessionsCommunicate with the staff to promote an open, cooperative environment.Required Skills & ExperienceExperience working with children ages 18 months to 5 years, specifically those children with extra supportAbility to communicate skillfully and sensitively with the child, the parents, co-workers andAbility to objectively observe the child's behavior and to report on these observationsUnderstanding and ability to apply first aid and emergency responseAbility to maintain confidential recordsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to complete tasks in a timely manner without supervisionConditions of EmploymentStandard First Aid and CPRCriminal Record ClearanceTB ScreeningImmunization RecordMedical note from a doctorA minimum of Level 1 Early Childhood Educator
