Job OverviewThe Truck Driver / Equipment Operator is responsible for safely transporting equipment, materials, and supplies to and from project sites throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other locations as required. This position requires a dependable and safety-focused driver with long haul capability, a proven track record, and the ability to operate various pieces of equipment including skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, and snow cats.The successful candidate will support field operations by ensuring equipment and materials are moved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, client, provincial, and federal transportation requirements. This job description outlines the intended requirements of the position and may include additional duties as required.ResponsibilitiesOperate and drive tractor-trailers, trucks, and other assigned commercial vehicles in a safe and skilled mannerTransport equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to and from project sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other locations as requiredSupport long haul, regional, and local hauling requirements based on project and operational needsPlan routes, manage travel time, and work with dispatch or operations to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materialsComplete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and report any defects, maintenance concerns, or safety issues immediately to fleetEnsure cargo, equipment, and attachments are secured properly and transported in accordance with applicable load securement and transportation requirementsMaintain accurate records including logbooks, trip reports, inspection reports, fuel records, bills of lading, and other required documentationCommunicate professionally with supervisors, dispatch, clients, field crews, and other driversAssist with loading, unloading, spotting, and staging equipment and materials as requiredSafely operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, snow cats, and other assigned equipment when requiredLoad, unload, move, and stage equipment or materials in yards, laydown areas, and active project sitesOperate equipment in off-road, remote,



winter, and utility construction environments while following safe work practicesPerform basic daily checks, housekeeping, and minor maintenance support on assigned trucks and equipmentFollow all company safety policies, client requirements, traffic laws, and provincial/federal transportation regulationsOperate within hours-of-service requirements and maintain accurate driver recordsReport incidents, near misses, hazards, vehicle defects, and equipment concerns immediatelyUse proper load securement, tie-downs, permits, signage, and escort requirements where applicableAssist field crews with equipment moves, material deliveries, site setup, demobilisation, and general support as requiredWork in remote areas, on uneven ground, and in changing weather conditions including winter conditionsMaintain trucks, trailers, and equipment in a clean, organized, and professional conditionSupport yard organisation, equipment staging, snow removal, and other operational tasks as assignedRepresent the company professionally when dealing with clients, landowners, suppliers, and the publicWork Cooperatively and respectfully with co-workersAcknowledge co-worker and team accomplishmentsFollow company values of safety, quality, integrity, operational excellence, customer satisfactionQualifications and RequirementsMinimum three (3) to five (5) years of proven commercial truck driving experience, preferably including long haul, heavy haul, off-road, or construction-related haulingValid Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement, recognized for work in Alberta and SaskatchewanDemonstrated safe driving record with a clean or acceptable commercial driver's abstractExperience operating skid steers, excavators,



loaders, Nodwells, snow cats, and similar construction or utility equipment is required Education RequirementsCompletion of required commercial driver training and licensing requirements for the applicable provinceCurrent safety tickets such as First Aid, CSTS/CSO, Ground Disturbance, H2S, WHMIS, or other client-required training are considered an assetAbility and willingness to complete long haul, regional, remote, and local driving assignmentsStrong knowledge of load securement, pre-trip inspections, logbooks, hours of service, and transportation documentationProven ability to operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, Nodwells, snow cats, and related equipment safelyGood mechanical aptitude and ability to identify vehicle or equipment concerns before they become larger issuesReliable, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication skills with supervisors, dispatch, field crews, clients, and other driversAbility to adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, road conditions, and project prioritiesStrong commitment to safety, quality, and professional conductWork is performed on highways, public roads, yards, remote work sites, construction sites, and utility project locationsMust be willing and able to travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, including long haul assignments and overnight stays where requiredMay be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, or on-call depending on project needsMust be able to work in all weather conditions, including winter conditions, and on uneven or remote terrainPhysical requirements include climbing in and out of trucks and equipment, securing loads, lifting, carrying, and completing general field support tasksK-Line Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
