We'll stand behind you as you strive for success and promote the ideals of WBM.Fitters lay out, prepare and assemble structural steel, buckets, thumbs, couplers and other miscellaneous components.Responsibilities, Duties and TasksWorking under the general supervision of Fab Shop Foreman your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Fitting Typical Duties include:Ability to work with heavy plate steelRead and interpret blueprintsPlan the sequence of tasks and assemble parts according to drawingsFabricate steel weldments and use measuring instrumentsAssemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-unitsFasten components together (by tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the processOperates and uses various other tools and hand grindersCustomer ServiceProvides quality customer service to internal clientsResponds to requests in a prompt and expeditious mannerProduces quality workmanship on finished productsWorkplace SafetyMaintains a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all timesPractices safety in the work place at all times to ensure he or she does not endanger oneself or others in the plantComplies to all safety regulations, policies and procedures without any deviance,



including wearing all appropriate Personal Protection Equipment at all timesWill perform daily pre-shift inspections on any and all equipment that will be used during the shift and inspection results will be recorded in log bookWill regularly check all work tools and equipment and shall take out of service any tool or equipment that poses a hazard due to a need for repairs.All defective tools will be tagged and taken out of service for repair or must be discardedPromotes and ensures workplace safety exists at all timesEnsures the health and safety of oneself and each and every workerLeads by exampleOther DutiesPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsExperienceA minimum 3+ years of related experienceEducationCompletion of Grade 9 (Preference will be given to high school graduates.)KnowledgeAdvanced knowledge of all safety practicesIn-depth knowledge of all tools and equipment and their use and careSkillsCommunication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levelsInterpersonal skills work collaboratively with othersTime management skills to productively complete work and meet all deadlinesOrganizational skills to plan out and coordinate his or her work in a logical mannerAnalytical skills to identify problems and find a solution,
