this role offers the chance to do all of that while remaining deeply connected to the trades community.QualificationsWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking experienced tradespeople who are passionate about the industry and interested in helping others succeed.Ideal candidates will have:Interprovincial Red Seal certification in Powerline TechnicianA minimum of five years (full time equivalent) of recent journeyperson experience in the areas of construction and maintenanceSafety training including WHMIS, OH&S, Fall Arrest and Confined SpaceComfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including OutlookExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA commitment to safety, mentorship, and lifelong learningPrevious teaching experience or related experience in the delivery of educational program or training adults would be an asset, but not required. If you've coached apprentices, trained coworkers, or shared your knowledge on the shop floor, you already have valuable experience to build on.NOTE: Two years of your training will be counted towards the educational requirements and cannot be included as part of your occupational experience.Compensation & BenefitsFaculty salaries currently range from approximately $81,760 to $104,267 annually, based on experience and qualifications.In addition to salary,

This is your opportunity to shape the future of industry while building a healthier, more balanced future for yourself.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Be DoingAs part of the Institute of Skilled Trades faculty team in the Power and Utility Line Work program, you will:Deliver theoretical and hands on practical shop training along with classroom instructionShare real-life industry knowledge and troubleshooting experienceMentor and support students entering the tradeHelp students build the skills employers are looking forPromote and ensure health and safety practices and procedures are consistently followed in classrooms, shops, and labs.Work collaboratively with fellow instructors and industry partnersStay current with evolving technology and industry practicesParticipate in student advising, curriculum development, program promotion, committee work, and work placement supportAs a condition of employment, you are required to provide proof of a valid Red Seal certification, including your Red Seal number for verification with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, prior to your start date.Candidates selected for interviews will be expected to provide at least three recent occupational references.
