The successful candidate is experienced in leading their own Building Science projects, and is self‐motivated, with a desire to continually learn and grow. A commitment to providing exceptional client service and developing technical expertise to deliver practical, creative solutions is key.Key ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:Working independently or with a Design Engineer within the project team to take a project from the preliminary conceptual stage through the construction and project close‐out stagesLiaising and coordinating directly with developer and architectural clients as building enclosure consultant for new and adaptive re‐use building projectsConducting thermal and hygrothermal analysis of building enclosure materials, components and assembliesBuilding envelope detailing, and building envelope detail review of architectural drawings and specificationsAwareness of the designer's influence on constructability and project costsConstruction field review while projects are under constructionPreliminary site investigations and detailed evaluations of existing buildingsPreparation of evaluation reports, studies, and project budgetsDevelopment of drawings and specifications for rehabilitation and deep energy retrofit projectsDesign and analysis to determine effective repair alternativesPrime consulting including coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplinesReview and analysis of bids submitted by contractorsContract administration of rehabilitation and deep energy retrofit projectsAn understanding of the responsibilities and prevue of each respective design discipline and construction tradeContract negotiations and dispute resolutionSpearheading designs, chairing meetings, acting as client liaison, working with contractors to analyze solutions to unforeseen conditions during the construction phaseProfessional Qualifications & ExperienceEDUCATIONDegree in Civil Engineering – Preference may be given for those candidates with completed courses in Building Science.Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).EXPERIENCE7 – 10 years' of building science experienceExperience in a consulting firm workplace considered an asset.Experience in the construction industry considered an asset.Demonstrated supervision of 2 or 3 EITs / engineers / technologists considered an asset.SKILLSCommitted to client service and technical excellenceAbility to conceptualize design with an understanding of constructabilityTeam player with ability to work independently with minimum directionStrong attention to detail and produce error free,
