Join the Nutrition and Food Services team as a Dietetic Technician at Nova Scotia Health in Halifax. This full time position involves nutrition screenings, menu management, and patient interaction to support dietary needs. Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition & Food Services, you will assess patients' nutritional risks and work closely with the Clinical Dietitian.
Your role includes calculating BMI, documenting pertinent information, and conducting meal rounds. Additionally, providing straightforward nutrition education will elevate patients' dietary awareness and choices. Key Responsibilities:
Perform nutrition risk screenings for patients
Document BMI and unintentional weight loss data
Carry out menu management tasks and input data
Conduct patient meal rounds to assess dietary needs
Provide basic nutrition education to enhance dietary intake Requirements:
Food Service Supervisor certification or equivalent training
General knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition
Proficiency with relevant menu management software
Robust communication and organizational abilities
