and serving nutritious meals for children in our care. You will have the opportunity to create menus that cater to varying dietary needs and preferences while ensuring that all meals meet nutritional guidelines.What will you do?Prepare meals and snacks on the menu from start to finishFollowing the set nutritional menu to ensure items are prepared to meet the nutrition guidelinesMeeting allergy and dietary requirements and accommodationMaintain inventory and record of food, supplies, and equipment.Order groceries and suppliesMaintaining a clean kitchen and understand current disinfecting practicesKnow and practice proper hand-washing proceduresFollow all safety protocolsYou will possess the following:Able to work independently in a kitchen settingStrong advocate of nutritionDemonstrate sound knowledge of proper food handling proceduresAbility to prepare and cook large volumes for up to 250 children dailyAbility to handle food allergies and food substitutionAbility to wash, peel, cut, and slice of ingredientsAbility to sweep and mop areasTeam player, organized, flexibleRequired Qualifications to Work at Kepler Academy:Minimum of 1-year commercial cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environmentFood Safety CertificateStandard First Aid certificateCurrent criminal record check, including vulnerable sector searchKepler Academy welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life, which is reflected in our largely diverse community of Kepler Academy employees.
