technology-enhanced and linked to measurable learning goalsProvide formal and informal written progress reports, with or without the use of assistive technologyRequirements & CompetenciesSuccessful candidates for the instructor role have the ability to perform the above-listed principal roles and responsibilities with minimal to moderate support. This typically requires the following experience and competencies.Experience working with school-aged children with diagnosed or suspected learning differencesExperience in strengths-based, neuroaffirming learning environments and/or a demonstrated eagerness and ability to quickly adapt to this type of environmentExperience using structured, systematic, and explicit instructional approachesExperience teaching the following: literacy concepts using a structured literacy/Science of Reading approach, math focused on building conceptual understanding, and support for executive functioning, sensory processing, or social-emotional learning. Open positions may list additional specific required instructional experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with or without the use of assistive technologyExcellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindsetDemonstrated commitment to our charitable missionSelf-motivated and self-directedAbility to provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screeningEligibility to work in CanadaJob type and hours of work: Part-Time ContractOur contractors primarily have full-time or part-time employment outside of their work with LDS. Contract instructors work between 6 and 20 hours per week,



plus paid prep time of up to 20 minutes per session. Contractors select set weekly days and times they are available for online sessions, and must maintain the same availability from September 2026 to June 2027, without disruption. Contractors are responsible for invoicing monthly for their hours worked and are not eligible for extended advantages.Available hours for in person sessions are: Saturdays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, as of September 2026Start date: As soon as possible.
