Residential Housing Support Worker CasualAug 19, 2026Employment Chance: Residential Housing Support Worker (Casuals – Multiple Positions )The West Central Women's Resource Centre (WCWRC) provides services and programming to women, gender diversepeopleandtheirfamilies in the West Centralneighbourhoodof Winnipeg. $21/hour plus a shift premium plus 6% vacation payTime requirement: flexible, between evenings from 3:30 pm -12:00 pm ; overnights from 11: 30pm-8:00am ; and daytime Saturdays and Sundays 7: 3 0am- 4:00pmDuties and ResponsibilitiesResidentialSupportsMake connections and build relationshipswithresidents, getting to know their needs and goalsBuildrelationships betweenresidentsthroughcoordinating ofregular meetings andcommunity activitiesConnectresidentsto internal supports includinghousing, gender-based violence supports, cultural programs andvolunteer opportunitiesLiaise betweenresidentsandtheir case workerafter hours, to ensure continuity of care outside of office hoursCoordinate skill buildingand informationalworkshopsSupport participants to prepare for meetings, as planned with theircase worker, andaccompanyto offer support as neededAttend weekly case management meetings with the Residential Support Services TeamAdministrationMaintainorganized files and records of activityregardingwork withresidentsOversee and track programming budgetOtherParticipate in relevant WCWRC and community meetings with peers as assignedActivelyparticipatein WCWRC staff retreats,trainingsand meetingsOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSolid grounding in harm reduction, trauma-informed care,



and empowerment-based approachesExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and community partnersStrong crisis intervention skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills; Demonstrated understanding of working with marginalized communities through an anti-oppression lens and an awareness of the social determinants of healthProfessional, responsible, and discreet when handling sensitive and confidential informationExperience working collaboratively with a variety of community organizations and service providersExceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a dynamic caseloadSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills with attention to detailProficiencyin Microsoft Office andOutlookStrong ability to work collaboratively in a diverse staff teamOpen and willing to work within WCWRC's valuesPreferred:Lived experience of overcoming housing insecurity, homelessness,povertyand/or marginalization strongly preferredExperience supporting victims of gender-based violence and knowledge of available resourcesExperience supporting refugee women and their families and knowledge of available resourcesExperience providing housing support services to marginalized or at-risk populationsExperience working within the non-profit sectorKnowledge ofEIA, housing systems andthe Residential Tenancy Act would be considered an assetExperience working collaboratively with community organizationsClass 5driverslicense and access to a vehicle an assetWorking Conditions:Evenings&Overnights, and Weekend daysThere is a risk of exposure to potentially unpredictable behaviors and situationsWe thank all applicants but only candidates being considered will be contacted.
