Reporting to the Operations Manager at 4th Ave the Packaging Production Mechanic will be responsible for setting up, modifying, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing several different types of machinery.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systemsMaintain andoptimizemachinery, includingcomponentfabrication, and equipment testingDetect equipment irregularities,identifyroot causes, and proactively implement preventative and corrective actions to reduce downtimeConduct and document scheduled preventive maintenance using condition monitoring toolsAssistin equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and calibrationComplete maintenance logs, testing records, and compliance documentationCommunicate effectively with colleagues, packagers, clients, and managers to coordinate activities and report issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address facility-related concerns andoptimizeprocessesWork independently on complex issues using sound judgment and selectingappropriate methodsand tools for resolutionAdhere to all Health and Safety Regulations ensuring a safe work environmentUpdate spreadsheets for parts on all equipmentRepairing or replacing malfunctioning components such as motors, gears, belts etc.Assistingin theinitialsetup of production jobs ormaking adjustmentswhenrequiredWorking towards continuous improvement of the machineryAdhering to safety guidelines and industry regulations by wearing (PPE) and following lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures when working with energized machinesEnsuring machines are calibrated foroptimalperformance,accuracyand quality controlHelpassistwith operator training of mechanical equipmentQUALIFICATIONS:Grade 12 diploma, post-secondary education with millwright certification is preferredMinimum of 3 years progressive experience in a production environment preferably inapackagingenvironmentExcellent teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.Understanding of GMP's and SOP'sUnderstanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts is an assetAbility to work all shiftsCompensation:Starting at $25.93/hrSCHEDULE:This posting is for an existing vacancy.
