Metro Supply Chain is a 2026 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program, recognized for its strategic expertise, culture of innovation and commitment to its people and local communities.SUMMARYThe payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBi-Weekly preparation of the pay for employeesProcess regular and off-cycle payrolls (hourly, salaries, bonuses, commissions)Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, leaves and changes.Calculate wages, overtime, statutory holiday pay, retro pay and other earningsEnsure accurate deductions for taxes, benefits, pension/retirement plans, garnishmentsReconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submissionProduce payroll reports for Finance, HR Operations, operations and management as requiredRespond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentiallySupport year-end activities, ROE and auditsParticipate in payroll system upgrades testing, and process improvementsVerify attendance, review timesheets, wage computation, hours worked and pay adjustmentsInform the supervisors or management of any discrepancy in the timecardsPerform clerical duties, such as maintaining and organizing the filing systemDistributing the payroll stubs to the different facilitiesComplete statistical reports,



statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submit them to appropriate departmentsComplete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits, pension plan, unemployment and medical insuranceAct as a temporary replacement during vacation timeOther duties as assigned depending on daily priority (including HR tasks)EDUCATIONMember of the Canadian Payroll Association/Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designationEXPERIENCE3 to 5 years of payroll related experience in a medium-to-large organizationBilingual (English and French), as they must communicate with internal customers located outside of the province of Quebec.Robust knowledge of payroll legislationKnowledge of Ceridian HRIS Dayforce is mandatoryKnowledge of UKG would be an assetWorking knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, ExcelAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentAbility to work independently in a time sensitive environmentReliable, organized, detail oriented, adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of tight deadlinesAbility to multi-task & simultaneously manage a high volume of demanding projects.Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality is mandatoryThe position holder will be required to communicate regularly with clients, management and colleagues located outside Quebec as part of work and case follow-ups.
