About The Role

Reporting to and supporting the Controller, the Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and supervising the Finance team’s AP, AR, and Payroll functions. This newly created position has been established to support the continued growth of the business. This is a hands-on accounting and supervisory opportunity for an experienced intermediate accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career. The role will perform full-cycle accounting and month-end activities, supervise one or more direct reports, and work closely with the Controller on financial reporting, accounting processes, and escalated issues.

Key responsibilities include

- Supervise and support one or more Finance team members across AP, AR, and Payroll;
- Review work completed by the accounting and payroll team and provide day-to-day guidance and coaching;
- Provide backup coverage for AP, AR, and Payroll as required;
- Perform full-cycle accounting and support monthly and year-end close;
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments,



and other month-end entries;
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies;
- Support the Controller with financial reporting, analysis, reconciliations, and accounting projects;
- Participate in every payroll run, including payroll for hourly employees;
- Review timesheets and payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies and escalated payroll matters;
- Handle complex payroll issues involving severance, premiums, taxes, benefits, deductions, and other adjustments;
- Complete quarterly benefits reconciliations and payroll-related accounting;
- Support project billing, job costing, and reconciliation of project costs;
- Assist with year-end audit preparation;
- Help develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and SOPs.

Our Must Haves

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
- CPA designation or working towards designation is considered an asset;




- 3+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience;
- At least 1 year of experience supervising and supporting a direct report;
- Hands-on payroll experience with hourly employees is required;
- Must be comfortable participating payroll runs;
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, QuickBooks Online and/or Service Titan is strongly preferred;
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations;
- Strong understanding of payroll, including taxes, benefits, deductions, premiums etc;
- Experience working in manufacturing, food and beverage, construction, or another project-based environment is considered an asset;
- Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year
