We are a thriving, privately owned veterinary dermatology specialty practice with four locations. Our Kelowna clinic is seeking an experienced veterinary professional to join our collaborative team as a full-time Assistant Manager.

This is a management-first position with a hands-on clinical component. Your primary responsibility will be supporting the team and day-to-day operations of the clinic, while having veterinary technologist experience to step into patient care when needed.

Assistant Manager – Your Role

Your number one responsibility will be supporting the day-to-day management and operation of the practice. You'll be a primary resource for staff, help keep workflows organized, support our doctors, and ensure the clinic operates efficiently.

Key responsibilities include

- Overseeing daily clinic operations, workflow, and staffing needs
- Providing leadership, direction, and day-to-day support to staff




- Prioritizing and delegating tasks based on clinic and patient needs
- Supporting staff training, onboarding, and development
- Assisting with staff scheduling, vacation requests, and coverage
- Supporting inventory management and ordering
- Identifying opportunities to improve clinic workflow and efficiency
- Supporting implementation of clinic policies and procedures
- Stepping into reception, assistant, or technologist duties when additional support is required

Veterinary Technologist Experience

Although management is the primary focus of this position, strong hands-on veterinary technologist experience is required. You must be comfortable providing clinical support when needed, including:

- Patient restraint and low-stress handling
- Collecting and preparing laboratory samples
- Blood collection/venipuncture
- Assisting veterinarians with procedures and patient care
- Preparing and administering medications and treatments
- Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Admitting/discharging patients and providing client education

What We're Looking For

- Previous veterinary technologist experience
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience
- Confident, approachable leadership style
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems independently
- Positive, dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong computer skills; Experience with Cornerstone software is an asset
