The purpose of this role is to lead the timber framing crew both on the shop floor and on job sites and to undertake timber framing tasks as part of the team to exceptional standards.LocationThis full-time position is based at our shop in Golden, BC. Travel as required in BC and Alberta to client job sites for onsite installations.We offer a competitive rate of pay, a 4-day week, a flexible working schedule, comprehensive medical and dental benefits plan after 3 months with us, use of company vehicles for work purposes and fully funded training opportunities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordination and organization of crew members in the shop, and on a job-site when appointed as supervisorUphold the accuracy,



quality and safety of work performed in the shop and on job-sitesEnsure shop procedures are followed by all crew membersLead by example with quality & efficiency of workmanshipTeach proper tool and equipment use and trade techniques to the crew in the shop and on jobsites when requiredAccurate interpretation of shop drawingsMonitor the time and ensure daily break schedules and finish times are adhered to by all crew membersAssist crew members with properly filling out daily time entriesReceiving shipments, checking shipment completeness and quality including length, cross section, FOH content, and moisture content of kiln-dried woodEnsure completeness of packaging for shipment to site, including all timbers, pegs, connectors, fasteners, specialty hardware etcKey RequirementsWe would love to hear from you if you can offer us the following skills and experience:Minimum 5 years of proven experience in carpentry, timber framing or log buildingMinimum 2 years of proven experience as a foreman / crew lead / supervisor Proficient with timber framing toolsAbility to read and interpret drawingsAbility to lead and manage crewsExperienced with timber frame joinery and structural systemsNeed to be physically robust to move heavy timbers and able to work confidently at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and beamsAbility to work alone on assigned tasks and together as part of a cohesive teamDemonstrated commitment to exceptional standards of workA full clean driving licenseCanadian Citizen or Valid Work Permit for a minimum of 2 yearsCompensation$35.00-$40.00/per hour
