Health Care Aide

Abby Road Support Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated health care aides to provide self directed support to adults living in our housing co-operative. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, inclusion, and quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide support with activities of daily living, including personal care, grooming, dressing, bathing, and mobility assistance as required.
- Assist individuals with medication administration in accordance with organizational policies and established protocols.
- Support individuals with meal planning, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that promotes individual choice and self-determination.
- Monitor and document health, behavioral, and emotional changes, reporting concerns to manager and healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Follow individualized support plans, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Complete accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reports as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- Health Care Aide registration




- Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities, experience with quadriplegics preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to assist with mobility and physical support needs as required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
