About the Role

As a Quality Control Technician (Co-op; Chemical) you will contributes to building a ‘Total Quality Operating Culture.’ In this role you will support key departmental objectives by collaborating with internal partners to support production quality and performing daily quality control testing.

Pay rate: $18-23/hour

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm

What Do You Bring?

· Actively working towards a degree in Biological and Pharmaceutical Chemistry

· Excel skills, experience with data validation, macros, pivot tables and coding

· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Positive attitude and enthusiasm

Nice to Have

· Exposure to FTIR Spectroscopy and TGA

· Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab an asset.

· A collaborative team player with the ability to act as an internal consultant

Key Responsibilities

· Quality Control Testing: Perform quality control testing of manufactured products in accordance with the Quality Manual and established standards.

· Product Quality & Troubleshooting: Apply knowledge of product testing requirements to identify, investigate, and troubleshoot quality issues.

· Colour Measurement: Oversee instrumental colour measurement and communicate accurate results to Production.

· Quality Standards: Interpret and implement QC standards in accordance with Laboratory Standards and established procedures.

· Quality System Review: Review the implementation and effectiveness of quality control and inspection systems.

· Material & Product Analysis:



Conduct and monitor testing and inspection of silicone, vendor materials, and finished products using analytical instrumentation, including FTIR and TGA.

· Document Control: Maintain quality documentation, including specifications, procedures, templates, reference documents, and records.

· Regulatory Compliance: Support ongoing compliance with quality, industry, and regulatory requirements.

· Equipment Calibration: Coordinate instrument calibration activities and maintain accurate calibration records.

· Quality Issue Communication: Liaise with the Laboratory Manager and Production Supervisor to report and address quality issues.

· Customer Complaint Support: Evaluate retained samples to support customer complaint investigations.

· Quality Data Management: Collect, compile, and maintain statistical quality data.
