Summary Of DutiesWe are seeking an experienced RPN to work in the fast-paced environment of the Colposcopy Unit & the Cystoscopy Unit, assisting with procedures and providing Person Centred Care. The RPN will participate as a member of the ambulatory care team in a manner that reflects the Hospital's philosophy and mission of service, and which promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, visitors and hospital staff. The RPN works as a GU tech in the Cystoscopy clinic with after-hour on call duties. The RPN should have an ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment, and may be requested to float to other procedure-related areas in the OR & Related Services.Qualifications/SkillsCurrent registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioCompletion of Laser certificate as an assetRecent Gynecology/Urology experience as an assetKnowledge of sterilization process/sterile techniques,



and experience preparing patients for sterile proceduresExpertise in the performance of gynecological operative techniquesMinimum one year consistent experience with Foley catheterization.Knowledge of vasectomies, bladder scans and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)Experience and/or demonstrated familiarity and knowledge with urological procedures such as Retrograde Pyelogram and Urethral DilationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent critical thinking, problem solving and ability to prioritize in a stressful environment requiredExcellent time management and organization skillsExcellent teamwork within a multidisciplinary team, including studentsDemonstrated commitment to Person Centred Care approach and principlesDemonstrated strong skills in patient teachingDemonstrated interest in personal skilled developmentDemonstrated leadership/and solid conflict management skills requiredCompetent computer skills required
