PURPOSE/SCOPE OF THE POSITIONWe are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about sharing and teaching to lead engaging group music classes. The position is 2-3 classes per week; the Strings teacher is also expected to teach private lessons at the school to students on their own schedule and coordinate payments.ABOUT OUR SCHOOLTrillium Waldorf School is in its 31st year of operation and serves approximately 165 students from Kindergarten through Grade Eight on a 3-acre campus in Guelph, Ontario. Our program integrates academic, artistic, and outdoor education, supported by an experienced Faculty and strong mentoring culture.RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and deliver engaging Strings lessons in alignment with Waldorf pedagogyCollaborate with class teachers and Faculty to support student developmentPrepare written reports and participate in parent communication as requiredAttend pedagogical meetings and section meetingsFulfill assigned supervisory dutiesKEY REQUIREMENTSA Waldorf Teacher Education certification or some Waldorf teacher training and/or experience would be an asset, along with demonstrated ability and interest in working within Waldorf guidelines and philosophy. Mentorship will be provided.Experience working with children of various age groups,



and ability to create a warm connection with children. Robust desire to foster a positive environment and motivate students.High level of musicianship and a solid background in string pedagogyPassionate drive for excellence in music educationStrong communication and interpersonal skills; approachable for students, parents and colleagues.Willingness and proven ability to work within a community environment.Effective classroom management skillsCurrent Vulnerable Sector Check and CPR–First Aid certificationCOMPENSATIONHourly compensation ranges from $25.24 – $31.03/hour and is determined based on experience and placement within the school's salary grid.
