EARLYON PRACTITIONER – Job Posting

Position Summary The EarlyON Practitioner plans and facilitates inclusive, play-based programs for children (0–6 years) and their parents/caregivers within an EarlyON Child and Family Centre. This role supports early learning, positive parenting, and community connection in alignment with Ontario’s EarlyON framework and How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery

· Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate, play-based experiences

· Create welcoming, inclusive environments for diverse families

· Support parent-child engagement and model positive interactions

Family Support & Engagement

· Build respectful relationships with families

· Share information on child development and community resources

· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Health & Safety

· Provide active supervision at all times

· Follow health, safety, and incident reporting procedures

· Maintain safe and organized learning environments

Documentation & Administration

· Maintain attendance records and required documentation

· Participate in reflective practice and team meetings

Qualifications





· Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education*

· Registration and good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators*

· Current First Aid & CPR (Level C)

· Valid Vulnerable Sector Check

· Knowledge of Ontario’s early years pedagogy

Skills

· Strong understanding of child development (0–6 years)

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively

· Solid organizational and documentation abilities

Working Conditions

· Physically active role (lifting, bending, floor play)

· May include evenings or occasional weekends

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate

- North Bay, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
